NOTICE TO PARADE PARTICIPANTS
An error was identified in the parade rules distributed with lineup information. The rule stating that "political floats are not allowed" was included inadvertently and should be disregarded, as we do have political entries participating in this year's parade.
The language originated from discussions held during a period when Baldwin experienced some difficult and divisive times, and there was consideration given to limiting potentially contentious entries in an effort to maintain a calm and welcoming atmosphere. However, that language was never intended to be included in the final parade rules.
As we celebrate America's 250th Anniversary, Windmill Days recognizes and respects the freedoms of speech and expression that are fundamental to our nation. Parade entries representing viewpoints, causes, organizations, or political perspectives are permitted.
All parade entries must remain family-friendly and respectful. Entries may not contain violence, hateful content, personal attacks, profanity, or material that would reasonably be considered offensive or in poor taste.
Windmill Days is a community celebration intended to bring people together. While individuals may hold differing views, we believe our community is strongest when we treat one another with dignity, respect, and kindness.
We appreciate everyone's cooperation in helping create a welcoming, respectful, and enjoyable event for all attendees.
All parade rules must be followed, and it is essential that every member of your group receives and understands them. Our parade staff works hard to keep the event safe, fun, and family-friendly. Individuals or groups unwilling to follow the rules may be asked to leave the parade lineup and may be denied participation in future years.
You will find the guidelines and rules below as you continue scrolling through to the registration link.
Let’s keep everything running smoother than fresh-churned butter!
We can’t wait to see you this year, and we hope you’ll stay after the parade to continue the festivities and help us Celebrate June Dairy Days Until the Cows Come Home at Windmill Days. Thank you in advance for being part of what makes this event so special.
